About the book
Bored on a riverbank, Alice follows a White Rabbit down a rabbit hole and lands in Wonderland, where she shrinks and grows, attends a tea party with the Mad Hatter, and faces the furious Queen of Hearts. Along the way, nearly everything she meets plays with logic, riddles and language.
Published in 1865 for children but loved by adults, it is full of wordplay, so reading it beside a translation shows how each language handles the jokes.
