Yes — free on the App Store and Google Play. There's no subscription, and no account is needed to start reading.
Which books are in the library?
More than 550 works of classic literature in the public domain — novels, short stories, and children's books — with more added regularly. Many include their original illustrations.
Do I read the original or a translation?
Both, together. The English text sits beside a translation in your language, sentence by sentence. You can also read the English on its own, or listen with text-to-speech.
How does improving a translation work?
When a sentence could be better, you ask an AI app on your phone for a new version and send it to ReadGem. Suggestions are reviewed, and the best one — or a blend of several — becomes the version everyone reads.
Do I need an account?
Not to read. An optional sign-in lets you back up your library and get credit for translations you contribute.
Does it work offline?
Reading works offline once a book is downloaded, along with your highlights, bookmarks, and notes. Improving translations with AI needs a connection.
